Gabriel Byrne: Gemälde aus einer anderen Welt

Gabriel Byrne kommt aus Pima County, Arizona, in den U.S.A. Die Sonora-Wüste ist sonnig, heiß und voller Tiere, es gibt dort Berge und Kakteen. Der Milchstraße ist nachts wie ein riesiger Riss durch der Himmel zu sehen. Seit seiner Kindheit zeichnet er Bilder der Wüste und als Kontrast zur natürlichen Welt auch immer wieder seine Träume. Er versucht, diesen Geschichten zu folgen und seiner Seele so eine Form zu geben. Ausgebildet in den USA hat er als Assistant Painter bei Ernst Fuchs gearbeitet und in den USA und Deutschland ausgestellt. Wir freuen uns seine Einblicke in seine Welten in unserer Galerie präsentieren zu dürfen. 

Gabriel über sich:

In der Malerei verwende ich eine Mischtechnik der früheren Öl-Maler. In dieser Technik kommen wechselnde Schichten "Weißes Ei Tempur" mit dünner Glasur-Öl-Farbe zur Anwendung. Für mich ist diese Mischung auch eine Metapher: aus der scharfen, grellen Wüstensonne in weiß und der nebeligen Atmosphäre der transparenten Farben. Schichten, in denen Träume, Erinnerungen und Fantasien liegen. Letztlich sind meine Bilder abstakt und zugleich auch surrealistisch. Aber wichtiger als Stil sind mir die Traumgeschichten, die sich in meinen Bildern widerspiegeln. Ich möchte Licht auf das dunkle Unbewusste scheinen lassen, die Gestalten aus dem Nebel herauskristallisieren und auf diese Weise Geschichten erzählen.
